Description
Pot magnet Ø20 mm. with countersunk screw hole for screws with general screw head - i.e. you cannot use countersunk screws with this magnet.
The difference between a countersunk and a countersunk pot magnet is that the screw goes further into the hole on a countersunk pot magnet, as there is room for a larger screw head. It is important for the strength of a magnet that the surface is completely flat, and with a counterbore magnet with a large recess, you don't have to worry so much about this, as the screw head is "hidden" in the recess.
Diameter: 2 cm.
Height magnet: 0.7 cm.
Height screw hole: 0.55 cm.
Screw hole diameter: 0.8 cm.
Hole size 0.45 cm.
Strength: approx. 6 kg.
In addition to the design of the screw hole, which is completely open and round, the magnetism is weaker in a recessed pot magnet. The steel reinforces the magnetism and makes it stronger than a common. ring magnet without steel. But compared to a countersunk magnet with undersink, it gets a smaller magnetic surface, and therefore the magnetism of this counterbore magnet is approx. 40% smaller than a countersunk magnet with countersinking. So choose a recessed pot magnet if you need to be able to use it together with alm. screw heads, or when the size fits better because it is smaller in height than a recessed pot magnet.
We always measure the strength in direct pull on a thick, magnetic steel plate. The more space there is between the magnet and the magnetic surface, the weaker the magnetism will be.
If the magnet is to be used for a vertical pull downwards, you must multiply the need for carrying capacity by approx. 4. Feel free to contact us - and we will do the calculation for you.
NOTE! Intended for indoor use as the product is not made of stainless steel.
We do not recommend using pot magnets for glass boards, as the steel pot can scratch the board.
