Can I make my own mobile phone holder with magnets?
We often get questions about which magnets to use to make a mobile phone holder, and the idea is actually really great. The short answer is, however: we generally do not recommend magnets for mobile phones.

What happens if you put a magnet directly on your phone?
There is a big risk that you will damage the electronics in the mobile phone. Whether your mobile phone is damaged can depend on, among other things:
- How sensitive your phone is
- The strength of the magnet
- How long, the magnet sits there
What if the magnet sits on the cover and not directly on the phone?
A little distance is created between the mobile phone and the magnet which can minimize the damage, since there is no direct contact. It also depends on how strong the magnet is and how sensitive the phone is. The phone might still be affected, and you might still experience periodic outages.
What happens if the magnet is in the holder and the metal plates are on the phone?
The mobile phone is constantly exposed to magnetism when you attach it to the car where the magnet is located. However, this method will be the solution that affects the mobile phone the least. It also requires, however, that you do not use power magnets that are too strong. The big question is whether it is worth the risk.
Magnets affect smartphones
We have researched the subject and several manufacturers of smartphones have announced that magnets will affect smartphones to one degree or another. For example, a magnet can affect the image quality, the compass and generally apps that use your location. It is therefore difficult to say that nothing happens when you want to make a mobile phone holder with magnets.
