These rod magnets are made of neodymium and can safely be used on all magnetic surfaces.

These magnets will also work on magnetic glass boards. But be careful! This magnet is classified as a neodymium magnet and has a strong magnetic pull. Therefore, always be careful when you are placing the rod magnet onto the glass board and ensure your fingers are not between the magnet and the glass board. In addition, take proper precautions when placing a rod magnet near other magnets, as these neodymium magnets cannot withstand high speed collision with other magnets. Some of our customers have said that they use the rod magnet to locate and attract other magnetic objects because its elongated length of the rod allows them to properly grip and maneuver it around in hard-to-reach areas. Others have used this rod magnet for crafts that involve magnetic sand.

The amount of strength you can extract from a magnet depends on the magnet’s neodymium density. This rod magnet has an N-value of N38; therefore, it will have the adequate strength capability for both larger and smaller size magnets. Our rod magnet is intended to be easily grasped/handled and to have a six (6) centimeter long magnetic field. The magnetic field is measured from one end point of the magnet to the other end point of the rod magnet.
