A magnetic rod is magnetic at the ends. It is therefore easier to remove and moce around compared to a flat magnet. You get 1.6 kg. in strength at each end, but you can also achieve high magnetic strength fusing the sides of the bar magnet, albeit with a division of north and south poles axially (if you are looking for a magnet with pole faces on the sides, you should instead look for a magnet with diametric pole division).

This size magnet is the perfect example of how much you can get out of a small magnet by increasing the N value with a density of N48. In comparison, our 6x10mm. bar magnet only has a strength of 1.4 kg. because it has a lower value of N40. But the longer a magnet is, the more fragile it becomes, and therefore it makes sense to lower the density for longer magnets. That being said, this small magnet has reached a strength of 1.6 kg, even though it is less than 1 cm. in length.

Can be used on Chatboards but not on cheaper glass boards. Please contact us before purchasing magnets for glass boards, so that you are sure to choose the correct strength needed. A magnet with a strength of less than 2 kg. does not hold much more than itself and perhaps a  single piece of paper on glass boards. They only perform fully when in direct contact with a metal or other magnetic surface.
