Many families benefit greatly from a good and clear weekly plan, and the use of magnets makes it flexible and tailored to you and your family.
A magnetic weekly plan can provide an overview of activities, appointments, meal plans, tasks and much more. You can easily do this on a metal board, whiteboard or your refrigerator.
How to make a good magnetic week planner
Start by creating the fixed framework so that there is a template for the weekly plan you want. It can be days of the week at the top and time at the bottom. Or days of the week at the top and the names of the people who are in the plan at the bottom.
We have magnetic tape in several colors, so the plan is made with day of the week and time, so you can give each person their own color and thus everyone knows who is going to do what.
If you make the plan so that each person has their own row, you can instead use the colors to divide into categories so that it is clear to everyone what are the appointments and tasks.
When you are going to make the weekly plan, start by defining all the regular tasks and appointments. Place them in the right places in the weekly plan. Then add the elements that are extra for the specific week.
The smart thing about using magnets that you can write on is that you can easily move the tasks that are recurring, but may need to be done on another day (e.g. some tasks), and at the same time you can easily add new ones.
We have made sure to help you so that you can easily make a nice plan. We have made magnets with the 7 days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, etc.), we have "Divider tape" to make lines for precise division, we have magnetic pockets if you want to print and put in pockets and we have beautiful magnetic tapes that can be written on and erased again.
You get everything in the picture in our collection package, which also has a good discount price. See our board package here.
Adjust your weekly plan regularly
One way to stay on track with your weekly tasks is to follow up regularly. You can create an extra column with “done” where the magnet with the task is moved to when the task is completed. This gives you an overview of everything that has been done, and at the same time it is clear what is still missing. You can also cut stars out of the magnetic tape and place the star on top of the magnet with the task.
Motivational elements can be especially good for children if they have to help with household chores.
You can easily make a weekly plan on a steel refrigerator, a whiteboard or other metallic plate. Please note, however, that magnetic tape does not work on a glass board.
Meal plan on the refrigerator?
If you want to have the week's meal plan visible, it is easy and smart to present it with magnets. This makes it flexible to move around (you know that feeling when there are chops at work, and it's also on the meal plan for the same evening? No need to drown in chops) and you can easily reuse the most popular dishes.
You can also use the colors if you want to categorize the food, for example in "vegetarian", "fish day", "junk" and "store-bought food" or you can use colors to mark who is the chef of the day.
