It would be really great to have a magnet on the back of an iPad, so you can hang your tablet on the fridge and read recipes or check shopping lists, but unfortunately you have to use such a strong magnet that it risks destroying the electronics in the iPad. Therefore, you should avoid putting a magnet directly on your iPad.
Fridge magnet for iPad
There is, however, a clever solution for hanging the iPad on the fridge: a magnetic cassette. Besides the fact that the magnet can keep the iPad hanging on the fridge, the plastic front also protects your tablet from smudges and greasy fingers, and you can easily use the iPad through the plastic.
ATTENTION! This iPad magnet will not destroy the electronics in your tablet!
We've tested it, and it looks like this with an iPad Air:

You can use the touch screen through the plastic cover.
Magnetic holder with strong magnets
You can also choose a slightly more expensive solution, where you make a small shelf with a magnet on the back, which can keep the iPad upright on the fridge door. You can even use a nice piece of wood to fit your kitchen. You just have to combine the wood with two strong magnets with a load capacity of min. 19 kg. each.
In the video below, we have used 2 x 25 mm. pot magnets to build the iPad holder with.
When we made the video, the magnets had a carrying capacity of approx. 19 kg. each. However, these have now been improved and now carry approx. 22 kg. each when the pull directly on the magnet. You can therefore also choose different magnets for the project. Contact us if you need help calculating something, or if you want more options and cannot find them in the webshop.
