Troldtekt ceilings are often used in public spaces such as offices, schools and institutions because they provide good acoustics and at the same time have high fire resistance. But they are also increasingly being used in private homes.
If you need to hang something up, it is obvious to look for screws for hanging in Troldtekt panels. But there is no need for screws when you can instead get a magnetic hook for the Troldtekt ceiling (or similar acoustic panels) and avoid holes.
How to decorate Troldtekt ceilings
Avoid screwing into your ceiling and making holes. A really smart detail with the Troldtekt ceiling is that the screws in the corners that hold the panels up are magnetic. You can therefore easily put up a magnetic hook and use it for hanging. It's very simple: You take your hook magnet and put it on the screw. Our pot magnet with a hook of 13 mm in diameter fits perfectly the size of the screw. But you can use all hook magnets from size Ø10-Ø16 mm., depending on how big (and heavy) things you need to hang.
Hooks for Troldtekt ceilings
If you are looking for a magnetic hook for Troldtekt ceilings, then you have come to the right place. Below you can see the magnets that are best suited for Troldtekt and similar acoustic ceilings. Hooks supported by magnetism are absolutely brilliant, as you can easily put them up and just as quickly remove them again when they are not in use. And this also means that you can easily use them to hang decorations for any festive occasion such as Christmas baubles for Christmas or paper garlands for birthdays, weddings or other parties
What can magnets in the ceiling carry?
When you have a magnet in the ceiling, there is a direct downward pull, and thus the magnet can carry more than if it hangs on the wall and pulls obliquely downwards. Our pot magnet Ø13 mm. can, for example, carry up to 5 kg. in perfect conditions. Because it only sits on a screw head and therefore saturates magnetically too quickly, you don't get the full strength out of the magnet. But it can easily carry 2 kg. or so, if it has full contact with the screw head.
Normally we recommend that you multiply the weight of the thing to be hung from the ceiling by at least 2.5. Example: if your ornament weighs 1 kg., you should use at least 2.5 kg. in strength, when the counter pole is only a screw head. In addition, you should take into account if the ornament can or should be able to move, because that requires a little extra from the magnet, and here you should instead multiply the weight of the item by at least 4 to achieve a strength requirement that covers all variables. In both of these cases described here, a Ø13 mm. hook magnet will be fine.
Hangin something big?
If you are going to hang for example a branch, you should distribute the weight over several hook magnets. Not because it necessarily weighs more but because it pulls the magnets crookedly. So you should expect to need 3 magnets with hooks for a branch that is long and/or wide, so that the extra magnets can relieve the weight and fill in relation to gravity. Because that would be too much for a single magnet.
Here in the office we use them for Christmas decorations, fairy lights, Halloween decorations, flowers and much more, when it is Christmas, New Year, Halloween or when we are celebrating a colleague.
We use Ø10 mm. hooks for the smallest Christmas decorations such as Christmas hearts, fir cones and plastic balls.
We use Ø13 mm. hooks for fairy lights and garlands.
And we use Ø16 mm. hooks for larger Halloween decorations, heavy branches and porcelain decorations. In addition, we also use Ø16 mm. hooks when we need to use them in colors, as they are only available from size 16 mm. in spray-painted variants such as white and black.
